Sequoia’s life journey has been a continual evolvement of her spiritual development through the study and ongoing practice of yoga and healing. In her teenage years, Sequoia began to secretly study esoteric knowledge, joining a regular study group on the topics of chakras, meditation and crystal healing. Her growing interest in yoga and sound therapy branched out at the fresh, young age of 21, as she adventured on her first of many journeys to India.
Her life has been, and continues to be, a consistent cultivation of her spiritual development from her personal experiences, practice and passionate, consistent study. Sequoia’s teachings are influenced by eastern mysticism, the yogic teachings, and our collective conscious connection to the elements.
Sequoia’s yogic journey began with the very disciplined practice of the Iyenger tradition. After years of practicing the Iyengar lineage, she cultivated her own personal practice and discipline, which organically transformed her asana practice into a mixture of the Ashtanga and Hatha schools. Now, she teaches the traditional practice of Hatha yoga incorporating space for inner awareness and witnessing, which allows one to deepen inner connection beyond the physical body. She often includes the practices of humming, kriyas, bandhas and pranayama into her asana classes.
Sequoia’s passion for life was heightened through a personal self-healing journey from an illness. Now Sequoia shares through inspiration, encouragement, and self-empowerment healing to encourage others to re-remember that the power to change stems from the inside out: it all starts by cultivating love for one self, taking responsibility and having gratitude for life.
In her spare time, Sequoia loves to climb mountains, sing, dance, and commit random acts of kindness.
The love of sound healing was also a calling Sequoia had to follow, and studied mantras with Mata Gi, one of the main singers, at Pramath nikatan in Rishikesh, India. Her love for healing sounds, Mantra and Nada yoga continues. Over the years she has studied with Tom Kenyon, Mitch Nuir, Gina Sala, Lisa Murphy, and other teachers in India. She has been leading Sound healing journeys and workshops for over ten years.
In 2006, she completed a three-month intensive and received her 200 hour Yoga Teacher Training certificate from Pyramid Yoga in Thailand
In 2008, she also wanted to learn more about the yogic breathing known as pranayama, so she completed a one-month pranayama teachers training course with Shri.O. P. Tiwari at Kavaladhama yogic institute in India. The love for pranayama began.
Sequoia studied many different healing modalities, which allowed her to run a successful healing centre for eight years in Canada. She then got sick and healed herself naturally of chrons disease through the modalities she had been studying in previous years and applied them for her healing.
Regardless of what Sequoia is teaching her intention is always the same, to inspire and encourage others to listen to their inner wisdom within.
In her spare time her passions include singing, ceremonies, climbing mountains, dancing, being in nature and commit random acts of kindness.
Sequoia now lives and teaches international yoga trainings, sound healing trainings and retreats. She shares her time between Bali, India and Canada.

I very much appreciated Sequoia’s chakra training. It is rare to find a facilitator that is unafraid to guide others from darkness to light in such a confident and loving way. This training was an amazing mirror that reflected both the love inside and what was getting in the way of embracing something more true and authentic. I would recommend this training for anyone who wants to take a solid look at themselves and at their lives and make changes. I am positive that you will walk away from this experience with a fresh perspective and clarity about why you are here and what you are meant to do. Jakob Jones, Cal, USA
Sequoia is just one of those people who left a great impression on me as a teacher, the kind that you will always remember and always be grateful for.Maybe it was how I felt I really resonated with her, almost like I could see a part of myself in her, and she made it possible for me to see that positive potential in myself. Maybe it was how I always felt safe enough in the space she held that I could allow myself to be fully open and vulnerable. Her qualities of strength and compassion add to my admiration of her, as well as her authenticity, with an absence of ego and ability to be in full connection. The advanced teacher training on the Chakras and the energetic body that I participated in with Sequoia was truly a transformational experience. It was not only informative and practical as a teacher training, but was also an opportunity to a journey within, to discover, to let go, and to heal on many levels. I came out of it stronger, more confident, more balanced and aware, with more to give as a person and as a teacher to my own students. Thanks so much Sequoia. Tracy Hukins, Cal, USA
I knew my asana. I knew my pranayama. I’d had amazing meditations . My prana was accessible, but I lacked the tools to understand it. Sequoia provided the parameters, gave me the perspective. It’s been almost two years since then and the benefits continue to surface. Life presents precious few opportunities to study with un-corrupted masters. There is countless yoga teacher training out there and I am so fully satisfied and grateful I selected such a quality one with Sequoia Feeling Soul Good. Chris Ziker, Texas, USA
Her sound healing sessions brought me beyond what I knew and was absolutely life-changing for myself and many others. Every lesson with Sequoia is an ‘awareness adventure’ , beyond the 5 senses and deep into the oceans of our souls. Through chanting and pranayama sessions, I’ve attained a better knowledge of my inner body and started to believe in the amazing effects pranayama has on my body. Before I met Sequoia, pranayama didn’t mean anything more than just breathing in and out. Now I know it is more than just normal breathing, it is life energy and sort of like a ‘yoga for the breath or inner body’. I always feel like I had an ‘inner workout’ after a 90 min session of Pranayama. Now, it has become part of my regular practice and I hope to pass on what I learnt too many others.
